The Horseshoe

  • The Horseshoe is challenging due to the initial 300′ gain which all comes at the start, it’s all downhill after that.
  • Intermediate beginners could do this route, though the goal should be to run the entire hill.
  • 2.75 miles, but can be shortened or lengthened. ~300’+ elevation gain.
  • Meet at the base of Fourth Ave. Stairwell near the base of Memory Grove Park.
  • Ascend 4th Ave. Stairs up A St. to 11th Ave. then downhill Bonneville Boulevard to State Capital & Down State St.
  • Elevation gain is all at the beginning and intense, but once mastered you will be close/ready for City Creek Canyon.

  • Road cleared during winter months.
